About 2019 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid
Overview

Despite the popularity of hybrids and minivans, it took until 2017 for an automaker to meld gasoline-electric technology with the enhanced cargo and passenger capabilities of the minivan. But that’s exactly what Chrysler did with the Pacifica Hybrid. Now into its third model year, it remains the only plug-in hybrid minivan on the market. For 2019, Chrysler gives it some tweaks.
The Pacifica Hybrid is motivated by a 3.6-liter V6 engine and an electrified transmission with dual motors, along with a 16 kilowatt-hour battery. Thanks to the advanced powertrain, it achieves astounding fuel economy for its size. It returns 82 MPGe in electric mode and 30 combined MPG on gasoline only. It offers a 33-mile, all-electric range and a 520-mile total range between refuels. Drivers can replenish the battery during hybrid use or use a Level 2 power source for wall charging. Like most other minivans, the Pacifica Hybrid is available only with front-wheel drive.
The Pacifica Hybrid seats 7 people, with standard captain’s chairs across the second row. The battery replaces the second-row cargo area seen in the non-hybrid Pacifica. Still, cargo capacity is impressive. There's 32.3 cubic feet behind the third row, 87.5 with the third row folded, and 140.5 with the non-folding second-row seats removed.
Standard amenities in the base Touring Plus grade include 17-inch wheels, power-sliding rear doors, automatic headlights, tri-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, LED daytime-running lights, keyless access and start, and a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The Touring L trim adds perforated leather upholstery, heated driver and passenger seats, a power liftgate, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. For 2019, Touring L shoppers also receive a heated steering wheel standard.
The Limited trim gets a new 17-inch painted wheel design; memory settings for driver and passenger; power-folding mirrors, hands-free, power-sliding doors; a power liftgate; a garage door opener; premium Nappa upholstery; and a theater system with dual 10.1-inch displays, wireless headphones, and a BluRay player.
The sporty-looking S Appearance Package is newly available on the Pacifica Hybrid for 2019. Shoppers can find it on the Touring L and Limited trims. It bundles a black grille, black 18-inch wheels, gloss-black interior accents, an all-black interior with gray accents and “S” badging.
As it is a family vehicle, the Pacifica Hybrid has safety at the forefront. Every model gets a standard reversing camera and front-, side-, side-curtain, and driver’s-knee airbags. SafetyTec also comes standard. It includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection with automatic braking, rain-sensitive windshield wipers, and reversing sensors. There are plenty of options too. Shoppers can add a 360-degree camera system, forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automated parking, and adaptive cruise control with traffic crawl.
Parents interested in placing limits on their teens' drivin shoud look at KeySense. It allows parents to place limits on speed and audio volume, enforce seatbelt use, block select satellite radio channels, and prevent disabling of the Pacifica Hybrid’s crash-avoidance features. With all the safety technology available, the Pacifica aced its most recent Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) crash tests in 2018, and earned a Top Safety Pick+ award.
The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid continues to be one of the most efficient ways to carry seven people. That, combined with comfort, technology, and stylish looks, means that it merits strong consideration from anyone in the minivan market. Best of all, the model remains eligible for a full $7,500 federal tax credit, and additional state incentives in certain areas.

Nice ride, pleasant interior. However, I cannot seem to get an accurate figure on normal driving mpg - not from Chrysler or any dealer so far. Their 82 mpg-e combined cannot be explained either. Without reasonable estimates of mpg I wont go to Chrysler.
