About 2018 Nissan Rogue Hybrid
Overview

The year 2018 marks the 10th anniversary of Nissan’s Rogue compact crossover SUV. There are updates, mostly focused on the car’s tech. The hybrid version of the Rogue that was introduced for 2017 continues on, and gets the same changes as the conventional models. The 2018 Rogue Hybrid is available in either SV or SL trims, and both are available with front-drive or all-wheel drive.
The Rogue Hybrid has many similarities to a standard Rogue, starting with its 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. The gas engine is rated at 170 horsepower and is paired to an electric motor and lithium-ion batteries in the familiar gas-electric hybrid arrangement. The transmission is a continuously-variable transmission (CVT). The Rogue Hybrid is rated at 33 mpg city, 35 highway, and 34 combined with front-wheel drive (FWD) and 31, 34, and 33 with all-wheel drive (AWD).
What buyers will care about most for 2018 Rogue Hybrid, other than fuel economy, is on the inside. While the Rogue Hybrid has always been a five-seater, the second row seats split 40/20/40 for up to 70 cubic feet of cargo space, and there are still 39.3 cubic feet to work with when the seats are up. If that’s not enough, there are more handy little bins below the cargo floor.
Up front, a 7.0-inch display screen houses the infotainment system, and both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard. The Rogue Hybrid skips the base S model of the normal Rogue and goes straight for the SV, which comes with a 6-speaker Bose stereo, tinted glass, power driver’s seat, navigation, surround-view camera, and heated steering wheel. Options for the SV include a panoramic moonroof and a “Midnight Package” that adds glossy black paint to certain trim pieces and the wheels. Stepping up to the top-spec SL adds leather seats and the available Platinum Package with ProPilot Assist.
In crash testing, the Rogue has gotten Top Safety Pick status from the IIHS but four out of five stars with the NHTSA. Standard features include automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alerts, and a rearview camera, while adaptive cruise control is an available option.
