About 2018 Lincoln MKT
Overview

The Lincoln MKT is a luxury SUV with room for up to seven passengers. It sits between the smaller MKX and the full-size Navigator. The MKT combines the luxury of the Lincoln brand with a spacious interior without becoming so big that it’s unwieldy for city dwellers. This is a carryover from last year so there are no major changes.
There are only two different trims from which to choose with the base Lincoln MKT Premiere coming in with a starting price of $43,530. It’s powered by a 3.7-liter V6 engine with 303 hp and 279 lb-ft of torque. This is paired to a 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters should you want to take a bit more control of transmission shifts. Front-wheel drive is standard with no option for all-wheel drive on this trim.
Since this is a luxury brand, there are plenty of standard amenities even on the base model. There’s a panoramic fixed-glass roof with power front and rear sunshades, adaptive headlights, HID headlamps, and LED taillamps. Heated exterior mirrors with security approach lamps and LED turn signals are also standard along with rain-sensing wipers and 19-inch painted aluminum wheels.
Inside, the MKT lives up to the Lincoln image with power adjustable pedals with memory, leather-wrapped shift knob, leather-wrapped steering wheel with wood accents, ambient lighting, and a power liftgate to make loading cargo easier. There is exclusive Bridge of Weir leather for first and second row seats and the front seats are 12-way power adjustable with lumbar, heating, and cooling. There’s a 60/40 split-fold second row with heated outboard seats while the third row split-folds 50/50.
The standard infotainment system includes Sync 3 with a premium 10-speaker audio system and an 8-inch touchscreen. It features AM/FM/MP3/SiriusXM and a single-disc CD changer. There’s voice recognition for hands-free calling and AppLink with a selection of mobile apps. The Lincoln Way app works with your smartphone and provides roadside assistance and services like reserving and paying for parking in advance and arranging pickup and delivery of your car for service appointments.
The Lincoln MKT Reserve is priced from $49,025 and offers significant enhancements over the base model. It comes standard with all-wheel drive and has a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine with 365 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque paired to the same 6-speed automatic transmission. Those who plan on towing can add a Class III trailer tow package on their Reserve and there’s also the option for larger 20-inch polished aluminum wheels.
The extra performance provided by the bigger engine might be more fun, but it comes with a hit to the MKT’s fuel economy. While the Premiere gets an EPA-estimated 16 mpg city/24 highway/ 19 combined, the Reserve achieves an EPA-estimated 15/21/17. It’s not a significant difference, but it will increase your gas budget.
Additional standard interior features include a heated steering wheel and a power folding third row. Optional interior features include a power sunroof, heated and cooled second-row bucket seats, and a second-row refrigerated console. The infotainment system gets an upgrade that includes navigation with SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link, HD radio, and improved sound quality with a THX II certified audio system. An available dual-headrest DVD entertainment system features two 7-inch color LCD widescreen monitors with headphones and a remote control and the ability for each person to watch their own entertainment.
Standard safety features on every MKT include multiple airbags, SOS post-crash alert system, roll stability control, and curve control. There’s also the option for second-row outboard inflatable safety belts on both trims. The Reserve adds blind spot and cross-traffic alert standard and offers a Technology Package. This package adds adaptive cruise control, collision warning with brake support, active park assist, and lane keep assist for added safety.
The 2018 Lincoln MKT is available at dealerships nationwide.

I’ve been an Lincoln MK T fan for 8 yrs now. I have not taken delivery on this car yet. There were a number of hoops that needed jumping thru. The offer on my trade in was very low. The purchase process has been interesting, but with a little homework has gone very well.

I like the car. The extra room is great. I wanted something that could accommodate a wheel chair. Ours is a Lincoln Town Car Wagon. 4 wheel drive. And I can flat tow behind my motorhome.
