About 2013 Lincoln MKX
Overview

Lincoln’s midsize luxury crossover returns for 2013 with little fanfare; the luster from its 2011 redesign has not worn off. It offers a classy, comfortable, roomy ride for 5 adults. The MKX has a 3.7-liter V6 packing 305 hp with 280 lb-ft of torque (the same as the Mustang, so you know it’s got power). It comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and front-wheel drive; mileage is estimated at 19 mpg city/26 hwy. All-wheel drive (AWD) is available for the MKX, dropping the estimate to 17/23. Instead of trim levels, this car has “equipment groups” that combine popular options, such as a rear-view camera and heated steering wheel.
This year, the main update is in the MyLincolnTouch system, which attempts to simplify the multi-input (audio, touchscreen, sliders) system, with only moderate success. Still, once you get used to how the system works, you can control everything from the power liftgate to the air-conditioning with relative ease. Other new options include 22-inch aluminum wheels and metallic tints.
Outside, it’s fitted with that love-it-or-hate-it aggressive front grille, but otherwise its curves are quite demure. An odd bit of technology is included: A 5-button keypad above the driver's-side door handle allows you to push in an access code to gain entry. With keyless access already included, it seems positively retro to have old-school buttons. But then again the older, upscale clientele Lincoln's targeting is perhaps a little more touchy-feely than kids today.
The interior has won praises all around for its comfortable leather seats, variety of trim combinations and impressive 14-speaker THX-II sound system. There’s a media hub instead of a CD changer, which includes a USB port and SD charger, but its placement makes access difficult.
The MKX performs well on the road and offers passengers and driver the ability to have a conversation about where they should golf or lunch without shouting above road or engine noise. It’s got sufficient power and good handling, especially for a beast of its size. With its tall cabin, drivers and passengers are offered a good view of the world blushing past them. And it’s also safe, as it includes all the standard airbag faire, as well as antilock brakes and traction and stability control; the IIHS has rated it a Top Safety Pick for 2013.
As Lincoln continues its attempt to regain past glory, the MKX has proven to be a move in the right direction.

Very pleased with this vehicle. I love that the leather seats are heated and cooled, and that the back seats are heated as well. Cargo room is great. I adore how I can sync my phone with the car for music, calls, streaming audio, etc. Handles well, rides smooth, quiet inside. Glad I purchased.

love those gadgets! Styling is sharp. 20" rims look great. Very comfortable ride and responsive handling It has the adaptive cruise control and that is a terrific option Also rain sensing wipers work very well in our climate Only wish they would have had an LED lamp option on front
