I owned a 2003 lancer ES and was satisfied with that car. I had to replace it though, trans. went out. So i test drove the DE version of the new one and loved it. I bought the 5 speed manual. I wanted a car that i could mod. so i bought the bone stock. No a/c or anything. The only thing i have is the Keyless Entry. It has way more power than the older lancer (120bhp). The new lancers with the 2.0 engines have 152bhp. Handling is great for an economy class car, and it looks great, the sound system is the best for it's class i would say (MP3 ready radio, tells you the name of the songs your listening to) Great gas mileage (EPA messed up on it),I get 26.4 city 37.2 hwy. (If you get manual and drive it the right way it will get great gas mileage). Just a warning if you drive this car hard it will get awful gas mileage, I got 9.7 city. Overall great improvement from older model. MUST BUY. P.S. car looks cool, head turner. I always get complemented.

Beautyfull car its performance is outstanding in every way keeping in mind the kind of car it is because the only "but" i have is that its acceleration from 0 is a little too "soft" i would like it more agressive but after a few thousands of rpm it is just like an earth to earth misil, the barkes are in the zone, not too firm not too soft, the handling its worth of mention, although a little sensitive. Its appearance is dynamic and fresh I like A LOT, its japanese made exellent quality.

The DE lacks the off the lot power as the other models but at a fraction of the price. I personally love the look of the car and haven't seen any other cars in this class that I like nearly as much. Its very roomy and my son loves it, It has great handling and braking performance. This car has been a great daily driver with amazing reliability. In the snow if this has new tires it dominates, but being front wheel drive without any of the traction control features and that I didn't get any of the accessory add on's I had to score it a little lower but those options are available.

This is a very nice car for the money and for those who know me you know that I love cars and get to play with them all day at work. I was sick and tired of messing with used cars seeing how I have 2 used cars right know and it seems they both need some work so I just said screw it and bought something new. For the car being as primitive as it is there are many things I liked about that I didn't like in the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, or the Nissan Sentra. I think my favorite thing about the car is how it looks. It has the nose of a shark which strangely enough looks like a street racer or something and that fact that it is stick and has plenty of power when you wanna get out of the way. It rides like a big car, and is quiet on most road surfaces. If any of you are considering buying one and can't drive a stick to look else where because the CVT transmission that they put in these for the automatics robs this otherwise fantastic motor of all of its power. I have had one little problem in the few months I've had at 4000 miles the driver seat was replaced for a squeaking noise when I shifted my weight in it. The DE didn't come with A/C or power locks but for another 1200 bucks u get the A/C installed and who needs power locks? What a great car it has 7100 miles on it and I'm looking forward to seeing what the future holds.
