Overview
What would Tiger do? According to the TV ads, he'd go out and buy a 2009 Buick Enclave, GM's largest and most expensive midsize crossover SUV. Promising Buick's trademark luxury features, the 2009 Enclave returns in its second year largely unchanged. Built on the Lambda platform shared by the Acadia and Saturn Outlook, the roomy crossover seats seven or eight (depending on second-row bucket or bench seat) with a class-leading 116 cubic feet of cargo room when both rear rows are folded flat. With both rows up, it still holds nearly 19 cubic feet. The second row also flips and slides forward or aft 3 inches to allow for more legroom and easier third-row access.
Under the hood sits a 3.6-liter, 275-hp DOHC V6 with variable valve timing, paired only with a 6-speed shiftable automatic that reportedly has some awkwardness when downshifting. Rumors abound, but have not been confirmed, of a direct injection version that gets 304-hp or an optional 4.6-liter V8. The Enclave comes in both CX and CXL trims, in either front-wheel or all-wheel drive. The all-wheel drive reduces fuel economy somewhat, from 16/24 to 16/22 mpg. Although it can tow up to 4,500 pounds, the 5,000-pound weight of this crossover adds to its difficult maneuverability. Smooth handling and an ultra-quiet ride characterize the 2009 Enclave, thanks to plenty of sound insulation and extra-thick door and window seals. You'll want it quiet, too, to enjoy the interior comfort.
Power windows, locks, and heated mirrors, leather and wood interior trim, leather seats (CXL), power front seats, a CD/MP3 player, satellite radio, and a power liftgate maximize convenience and minimize effort. The 2009 Enclave also earns top marks in the NHTSA crash tests, thanks to standard traction and stability control, dual front-side and side curtain airbags for all rows, 4-wheel ABS brakes, and 18-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires. There are plenty of options, such as a DVD player, captain's chairs, and larger 19-inch wheels. An optional navigation system comes bundled with a rearview camera, which helps cut down on the poor rear visibility issues. Overall, the 2009 Enclave sets its sights on upscale, luxury-seeking drivers looking for a combination of high-end comfort with family-style versatility.

I purchased this 2009 Buick Enclave with 39k miles as a one owner vehicle. Then added 15k miles in a short seven months. During that time we had taken 6 road trips of 1000 miles or more. It is has become the "go to" vehicle for family trips. It's quick, quiet & comfortable. I have a heavy foot that averaged 21+MPG. It offers XM radio, DVD w/ wireless headphones, navigation, multiple climate zones(driver, front passenger & rear) plus hot/cold front seats. The sunroof and panoramic skylight keep the interior from feeling claustrophobic. The Buick Enclave is the nicest vehicle I have ever owned. I would recommend it to anyone that wants the heft of an SUV neatly wrapped in high end tech and luxury.

We have been on several trips and have really appreciated the quiet ride and ease of driving. After driving 400 miles you feel relaxed. Couldn't say that with our previous SUV. The Bose sound system is clear and strong. The navigation is simple to program and use. We like the cool seats in summer and seat warmers in winter. The storage is wonderful with the seats folding flat to the floor we could easily get a treadmill in the back.
