Reviewed a 2008 Jaguar XJ8 L RWD on Jan 29, 2008

I bought my 2008 XJ8L with zero miles on it and at 2,500 miles I started having what some web sites refer to as "the lurch". When I come to a rolling stop I feel a thump as the transmission downshifts from 2nd to 1st gear. It's not like the car wont run, but it's so irritating that I no longer enjoy driving the car. It's not what I would call a pleasant experience after just 2,500 miles for a $70K car. The car is now at the dealership for the second time. If they can't fix the problem after this second trip to the dealership I'm going to ask them to buy the car back from me. I LOVE the look of the car from the outside, and the inside. It's distictive (doesn't look like a jelly bean like so many other cars) and dignified (the dashboard doesn't look like a boom box). But the transmission issue leaves me cold.
