Overview
The Jaguar S-Type, which has been in the lineup since 2000, will be replaced in 2009 by a new model, called the XF (originally scheduled for the '08 model year but pushed back to '09). So 2008 will be the S-Type's last year. However, to ensure the S-Type goes out in style, Jaguar gave it a minor exterior design upgrade, some new options, and a revised interior.
All S-Type models now receive the sportier S-Type R bumper and mesh grille, as well as a choice of sportier alloy wheels. Inside, the S-Type gets new multifunction Sport seats with upgraded soft-grain leather, a leather-wrapped steering wheel as standard equipment, and a six-speed ZF automatic transmission. Jaguar also added Rear Park Assist to the list of standard features, and offers a number of new interior design options, such as Satin Mahogany veneer trim and an Ivory and Charcoal leather combination.
Drivers can choose from a range of engine options and trim levels, including a 235-horsepower, 3.0-liter V6 engine (in the S-Type 3.0), a 300-horsepower, 4.2-liter V8 engine (in the S-Type 4.2), and a 400-horsepower, 4.2-liter supercharged V8 (in the S-Type R).
As one the world's premier luxury cars, the S-Type Jaguar naturally comes equipped with an extensive list of standard features, including a one-touch power moonroof, a 16-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a 12-way power-adjustable passenger seat, dual-zone climate control, and Dynamic Stability Control.
The S-Type 4.2 and S-Type R add such features as Bluetooth wireless connectivity and a DVD-based navigation system. Safety features for all models include the Adaptive Restraint Technology System, which uses ultrasonic sensors to continually monitor and calculate the position of the driver and passenger to determine which safety systems to activate in the event of an accident, as well as adjust airbag energy levels to match an emergency situation.

The Jaguar S-type for is a great car as long you keep up the maintenance such as tune-ups, oil changes with top grade oil, Mobile One, wheel alignments, transmission service and all basic check list for repairs. I do my own repairs brakes and all. Dealers are too expensive and I dont trust them. And the cars is beautiful with British Racing Green paint.
