i am writing this review because i am thinking of buying one i recently test drove an 07 tundra, and i found it's towing power phenomenal. For instance, the 07 regular cab 2 wheel-drive version can tow 10,800 lbs with a weight distibution type hitch, giving it the highest tow rating of any half-ton pickup. Some of these towing powers are related to the wider, longer, stonger frame, but what i really think makes the tundra stand out is the optional 381-horsepower , 5.7 liter iforce v8. other options include the 236 horsepower, 4 liter v6 and the 271 horsepower, 4.7 liter iforce v8. This erases any doubts that toyota can build an "american" v8 lol. The pulling power begins low in the rpm range and continues right up to 6 grand wich is great for anybody who pulls floats, trailers, or hauls heavy equipment. It has a lot of advanced features like electronic fuel control, variable valve timing, acoustic control induction, duel overhead cams, stainless steel 4 into 2 headers, and an awsome set of exhaust, and thats just a small sample of what's inside the new stroker. Wich gives it the most horsepower pe liter (66.8 h/pl) in the six liter and smaller v 8 class. But the tundra is not the best around for gas milage i have found, you will probably get mid teens around the city and between 18 to 19 on the highway. The only downfalls i have found with new toyota is that, the quality of the interior seems to be a little cheap. The rear could also be a little softer to help comfort the rear passengers from the choppy suspension. So my overall conclusion is, i quote: (Jim Lentx toyota motor sales vice president) "From bumper to bumper, under the hood, and from the inside out the new tundra is a true american truck that will set a new benchmark in the full size pickup segment" and i have to agree toyota is going to be around for a long time.
