I'm waiting for Ford or Dodge or Chevrolet to put out a full-size pickup called the Humongous, but until then we have the equally towering-sounding Nissan Titan. A giant of a pickup (the largest built by a foreign auto maker), the 2007 Titan gets a bit more horsepower this year, pushing its 5.6-liter V8 to 317-hp over last year's 305. The truck comes standard with a 5-speed auto tran. Offered in Crew or extended King cab, the 2007 Titan comes in three trims levels. Base XE, SE, and LE feature either rear-wheel or four-wheel drive. A flexible fuel vehicle is also available in certain states. Crew cabs have a 5.5-foot bed and Kings have a 6.5-foot bed. Base XE trims don't have a long list of features, but as you step up to the SE and LE, you add power windows and locks, bigger wheels, and MP3 player. The LE adds leather seats and power adjustable pedals. A sunroof is optional, as is a unique sprayed-in bedliner to protect it from cargo debris. Other options include a Utility Package that offers an exterior lockbox behind the rear wheel and a tailgate light. Tracks running alongside either side of the bed feature tie-downs and hooks for extra storage. The LE has the option of a DVD system. The 2007 Titan packs a lot into a large truck, beyond just great towing capacity. ABS is standard, as it traction control on the 4WD versions. Owners love its powerful engine not only for driving, but also for its hauling heft. The cab features lots of room and comfortable seats. The main negative was poor gas mileage, but that's to be expected in such a behemoth of a vehicle.
