About 2007 Kia Sedona
Overview
The Kia Sedona minivan entered its second generation in 2006, so there were few changes to the 2007 models. The biggest addition is a new shorter wheelbase Sedona, nearly a foot shorter than the regular Sedona. The shorter minivan comes in only one trim, as opposed to the base LX and better-endowed EX trims for the longer wheelbase. Each 2007 Sedona comes with a 250-hp 3.8 V6 engine, representing a 6-hp boost from last year. The transmission is a 5-speed manu-matic. Inside, the interior materials were refined a bit, in an attempt to appear less plastic. Three rows of seats for seven passengers are available in the Sedona. In the longer wheelbase models, both seats fold flat, and the second row captain's chairs are removable (a bit heavy). The shorter wheelbase third row does not fold flat. The base LX is well equipped, with power features, cruise control, keyless entry, and tri-zone air conditioning. The EX adds performance tires, a roof rack, power seats, heated mirrors, and auto-dimming. DVD, leather seats, a power sliding door and tailgate and sunroof are all optional. The 2007 Sedona does not come in an all-wheel drive version. But where it shines above competitors is its safety ratings. With high marks from the INsurance INstitute, the Sedona features six airbags, traction control, ABS brakes, and stability control all standard. Owners are drawn to the safety features, since minivans are geared towards families, but they also like the powerful engine, comfortable ride, and smooth handling. Cheap plastic trimmings, a lack of options such as a navigation system, and hard to remove second row seats are some downsides.

We bought this van to replace our 2004 Astro. This has been a great vehicle for us. Many bells and whistles at less the cost than other imports. Overall performance has been good. Great pickup on the highway and good handling. Has not needed any repairs as of yet. The interior is gorgeous with leather seating. Love the heated front seats in the winter! Gas mileage could be better but it is definitely an improvement from the Astro! Is it fun to drive? Absolutely! With the sunroof and smart exterior I enjoy driving this vehicle very much.

We drove this car to Nashville on a college visit and to Calgary to visit family. The DVD and sound system entertained on the multi-day trips, with wireless headphone technology, no less! With the luggage rack and a topper -- we had lots of room to spare. I carted much of my mother's gear about as I sold her house; the rear seats fold down and the second row comes out in a snap! The car has a notable Kia transmission thing, like it's winding up its power before it downshifts. Letting it do so saves gas, but when you really gotta zoom, like I did in Nashville --WOW! Who knew a mini van would squeal tires and throw everyone back in their seats! (Only did this the one time. Heard about it for a long, long, time, those slushies in the laps -- brrrr! Still hear about it.) Seriously, compared to my Honda Civic coupe, which is no slouch, this thing has BEEF. For about six years we drove this van, our only reliable vehicle at the time. It will be sorely missed. The car is normally in Brookings, but we still drive it, and are very willing to bring it to Sioux Falls or to meet you halfway, if it helps.

I like the many cup holders, the shifter is in a wierd spot but it works. It has lots of storage. The two back rows of seats come out, which is nice. Yes it is a very fun car to drive. Gas mileage is very great.
