Full-size luxury sedan is not the first thing you free-associate when you hear Kia, known for its safety-oriented economy cars, but the Amanti is their offering in this segment, and in 2007 it gets a much more powerful engine and a few exterior and interior tweaks to make it a little bit more stylish and luxurious. The 2007 Kia Amanti comes in one trim only. The 5-passenger sedan has a new 3.8-liter V6 engine, and adds 64-hp over last year for a total of 264-hp. This is matched with a 5-speed Sportmatic automatic transmission. Not bad for a luxury car that packs in a lot of standard features at a relatively low price point. Standard equipment includes power windows, locks, mirrors, and both front seats. ABS and dual front, side curtain, and seat airbags are also standard. Other conveniences include dual zone climate control, a tire monitor, cruise control, and keyless entry. A Premium Package upgrades the 16-inch wheels to 17-inch, adds aluminum interior accents, and new gauges.
The exterior of the 2007 Amanti features a redesigned hood, head and taillights, and both bumpers, in an effort to give the sedan more classically elegant lines. Highlights of the Amanti include the spacious interior and the amount of features you get for what you pay. Owners point out downsides, like the so-so gas mileage (19/26 mpg) and the absence of a navigation system option.
