Overview

Quickly rising to become Lamborghini's top-selling car, the Gallardo adds a Spyder convertible and a Special Edition coupe to its 2006 lineup. Billed as the more affordable Lambo, the 2006 Gallardo is a racer with practical everyday considerations -- it even features 4-wheel drive. Its mid-mounted engine is a 5.0-liter, 40-valve V10 version of the Audi V8 that gets a 27-hp boost this year to 520-hp. This is paired with a standard 6-speed manual or an E-gear sequential shift 6-gear. This gearbox has been given shorter gear ratios for a more responsive ride. Also new in 2006 is a retuned double wishbone suspension for even more precise handling. The all-wheel drive is split 30/70 front/back, but adjusts to road conditions.
The new 2006 Gallardo Spyder convertible is a soft-top that retracts in under 20 seconds into the engine compartment. A rear glass window can be left up to act as a wind deflector. The convertible also adds rollover protection to the Gallardo's ABS brakes and electronic stability system. The 2006 Gallardo SE Coupe offers a sportier suspension, a sport steering wheel, P Zero Corsa tires, a car cover, two-tone paint, interior stitching that matches the body color, and a rearview camera. Seats in all the Gallardos are leather. Dual front and side airbags, folding power mirrors, and a CD-changer are other features.
The 2006 Gallardo is able to have all-wheel drive while still hitting 0-60 in four seconds thanks to its aluminum body parts. Its sharp angles, steep windshield, low height, and side scoops lend a menacing air to its profile. A rear spoiler can be adjusted electronically. The 2006 Lamborghini Gallardo is fast, racy, and fun and perfect for driving enthusiasts with a few extra dollars to throw around (lottery winners, take note). Those who have driven the Gallardo say the steering and handling are top-notch. Complaints are usual of any sports car: no real trunk and poor gas mileage. The cab forward design throws passengers right into the wheel well, so long-legged people will not be comfortable (but probably won't pass up a ride, anyway!). Owners say the interior material quality is poor.

What can I say the car is amazing to drive. Out of all the cars Ive driven this has to be the most fun to drive. At 300km/h it can stop on a dime .... Handles like it was on rails and Acceleration is amazing!

Awesome piece of Engineering. Definetly Audi influence on the inside. Nothing to beat the sound out of the exhaust at 4500 rpm Roadholding absolutely brilliant A pleasure to drive and always an experience. Don't be concerned about fuel consumption. Defines driving

I love my Lamborghini Gallardo because if you want to have a grand arrival, then this is a great car to do so in. It costs a pretty penny to maintain but it makes up for it by being a joy to drive. The performance is great and so is the sound and overall the car is fantastic.
