About 2004 Nissan Murano
Overview

With little variation in the looks and styling of minivans and SUVs (boxy, high ride height, big wheels), Nissan surprised consumers with the introduction of its Murano crossover in 2003. At the time, people seemed to either love or hate the blend of SUV bottom heft topped by the sloping lines of a car. The 2004 Murano is little changed from its inaugural year. The long wheelbase and wide stance allow for more interior passenger room, and the lack of a third row means more comfort for rear riders, whose seats recline back.
Both the SE and SL trims are available in either front-wheel drive or AWD, powered by a 3.5-liter, 245-hp V6 engine and seamless CVT transmission, which helps increase fuel economy to an estimated 20/24 mpg, pretty good for a sport utility. The 2004 Murano offers a new manual mode on the CVT in the sportier SE trim. Other additions include a 10-way power driver's seat (previously a mere 8-way) and pre-wiring for satellite radio. All trims come with six airbags, ABS brakes, full power features, foglights, cruise control, a rear window wiper, leather trim, and keyless entry. A sunroof, memory settings, navigation system, adjustable pedals, and leather seats are optional.
A rear and chin spoiler help improve overall dynamics of the 2004 Murano, and drivers do feel it handles more like a car than a bulky SUV, without sacrificing the ride height and cargo capacity. The rear seats easily fold flat for 82 cubic feet of storage space, and a cargo net and cover are available. Another nice feature is a lockable center console. Other highlights for owners include the all-wheel drive, the safety features, good acceleration with the V6, the generous amount of space, and the comfortable seats. Rear visibility is limited with the seats up (due to the headrests and thick D pillar), gas mileage is less than reported, towing is limited to 3500 pounds, and the stiffer suspension means you're in for a bumpy ride.

A great overall mid-size SUV. No complaints except for the old school info screen and lack of rear view camera. Besides that it is an excellent car.

Great car with all the perks. Handles very nicely and is still a luxury car. Would be wonderful for the first time buyer or driver. One of the most spacious and comfortable vehicles I've ever been in. Seats are super comfortable!

Had since brand new in 2004. Have taken on several trips, from snow skiing in New Mexico (Taos & Sante Fe) to sandy beaches in the gulf and love it! Even though not all wheel drive, did not have any problems in the snow and ice or the sand, it is great! Even pulls my trailer with my john deere riding lawn mower! Fully loaded with moonroof, dvd player, leather seats and awesome bose sound system including subwoofer. Many trips to Austin, TX, have me racking up 148,000 on the odometer, but other than the usual maintenance, have not had any problems. Recently fixed a noise problem coming from the rear door latch (was driving me crazy), simply added some electrical tape to the metal latch and NO MORE NOISE! Yay! Love those simple little fixes! Plan to keep forever!
