Overall impressed after owning this E46 for many years, I was never let down and continue to enjoy the beauty of its style. Definitely a cruiser and an Instant Classic. After knowing the basic routine of maintenance it is all good to go.

An absolutely beautiful car. It handled great and was the ultimate driving machine. I never had a issue with the car, it was only in the shop for routine maintenance. The car loved to go and go it did. It was so much fun, and I truely enjoyed driving that car. It did take premium gas but, I got great gas mileage around 32 miles to the gallon on the highway. It was an all around great car both for getting to and from work and driving the family around. The only complaint I had about the car was the interior paint peeling on the door handles and the center console. Other than that it was definately a looker and a dream to drive.

This is my 4th BMW and best thus far. I have owned the E30 (1985), E24 (1986), E36 (1997) and this E46 (2003). The progressive improvements over the years are quite noticeable in this E46 model. It has been rated as BMW's most reliable among the 3 Series and one of their most bulletproof reliable vehicles ever built. We have owned for 4 1/2 years and other than normal maintenance, it is Japanese like in its steadfast relaibility. As we live in a Northern city, adding Winter tires has given this rear drive vehicle snowplow capabilities without sacrficing year round handling. Once these cars are out of warranty, I highly recommend servicing through private mechanics who can easily access BMW parts and fit/fix for much lower labor costs. The drivability is excellent whether it be a short commute or long haul. No wonder BMW is coined as the "Ultimate driving machine"

performance was decent, lots of torque, good for daily driving and freeway driving, braking was very good, and handling was great. build was very solid, silent cabin, smooth ride, great looks, styling was simple yet stunning. cost of ownership was decent, but as many euro cars maintenance took up a lot of money, had to replace many things as the miles added up but once those things were replaced, everything was as good as new. fun car to cruise in, laid-back vip style car. miss it!
