Overview

To continue competing with Honda and Toyota's minivans, the 2002 Dodge Caravan adds some new trims and a few more optional interior luxuries.
In addition to its standard SE and Sport trims, the new eC is unveiled as the best-value Caravan money-wise. In the Grand Caravan division, an eX and eL are added to the SE, Sport, and ES trims, offering many comparable features to the Odyssey and Sienna, but with a less expensive price tag.
Minivans contine to add all sorts of storage and comfort configurations to accommodate all types of passengers. New features of the 2002 Caravan include a rear seat audio system, and a dealer-installed DVD system. Top of the line Grand Caravans offer power liftgate, removable center console, and traction control. Side airbags are now optional. While not having the flat-folding seats of the Hondas, the third-row seats in the Caravan do split 50/50. Cruise control and audio controls are located on the steering wheel. The exterior body has a sleeker look, with a highly angled windshield and large head and taillights.
The main attraction of the Dodge Caravan is a solid powerful ride that handles large loads of people and/or cargo well(particularly with the 3.8 V6) and an interior size that beats the competition.

We bought the van in 2005 it had very few miles on it and now we have loaded the miles. We drive it to Phoenix everyother year. I wish it had the stoe and go seats. I get better gas mileage then my husband in his chevy s-10 I love taking it on the road trips cause there is room for every one. I have only had minor repairs made to it like new breaks. I keep up on oil changes and I just now need to charge the a/c. Other then that we got what we paid for and I still like to drive it.

I like the room this car has. I don't like the problems with the tranny and assosiated with the tranny. But still a pretty reliable vehicle for my family. I would reccomend this to families that are willing to take the time to keep their car maintained. Or are able to fork out big bucks for repairs.

My caravan has 110,000 miles on it and still works well. Some things are slowly starting to show age but overall still a reliable vehicle.
