I've owned two Escorts now, my first was a 2.0 LX TD, which I wrote off when the Cam belt snapped. I now own a 1.6 Ghia. The build quality is better than the LX TD and is on the whole more comfortable to drive. It's currently going through a redevelopment, I'm patching up all the bodywork issues and making sure it is mechanically sound. I'll add more photos when it is all sorted.

First car, cheap to run and was great fun to drive and pretty easy to work on, apart from all the rust lol Performance mods are 10 a penny so making one yours is just a question of taste. Mine is now in scrapyard heaven :(

Very Reliable.Acceleration not very good,braking good, handling very very good.very economical ( Diesel) Maintenance Better change timing belts (2) in time. Overall a good car but it`s getting old. I miss air condition in Summer.recomend it as a first car.

Its not bad. Doesn't have a lot of power, and it shakes and rattles a lot, but then again its 15 years old. The only major money grab is gas, and trying to make it look nice. But its not a bad little car at all.
