the only thing it did good was offroading. it was a hideous suv, and never reliable.

its not that nice, its ugly, its slow, various little things go wrong with it, but it still soldiers on! and i still love it. is also reasonably fun to drive despite the lack of balls. isuzu trooper for the win!

Family vehicle from 1994-2003. Learned how to drive in it. One upside is that it had a 5-speed manual. The clutch was good thru about 190k miles. Long throws, unpredictable clutch engagement, typical full-sized SUV manual drama. But it was fun nonetheless. Packed bikes in it nearly every weekend to go out to the beach, and it swallowed them without a problem. Good road trip vehicle too. Made countless trips up north, to the Grand Canyon, Vegas, Laughlin, you name it, it's probably been there. Died with 216k miles on the clock. Performance was as weak as its weight and 190hp rating would suggest. Gas mileage was equally unflattering. Handling was rather tippy if jerked around, however when done smoothly (easy thanks to manual gears), it simply rolled like any other car. Ride quality was decent. Materials held up alright over the years, however seat fabric threadding came apart on driver seat, and steering wheel padding came apart. Dash and door plastics held up well and put up with torture pretty well. The split rear door came in REALLY handy. Despite rear-mounted spare, visibility was decent all around thanks to large glass area. Seat comfort was decent for short trips as well as long road trips. Leg and head-room were as good as it gets. Had 4hi and 4lo for off-road enthusiasts, and was pretty tough overall.
