This Sidekick is a great family off-roader, It is not as fun as the convertible versions but with power windows, locks, cruise and A/C it is much more civilized. The Suzuki engine is extremly reliable as usual but a little underpowered (especially with the 33s installed)

Actually its a Vitara 2dr 4x4 but the amaricans call it a sidekick for some wierd reason. Anyway fantastic capable 4x4 producing plenty of power. Although mine isnt quite standard they are as sturd as a rock. one little problem is that they rust as the metal is made from recycled bean cans.

it's an affordable and reliable 4x4 vehicle. good for daily use , with extraordinary off-road capabilities. quite economical (10 l/100km) and agile. terrible steering response with removed anti-roll bar. but the slide is easily controlled and it's fun to be driven that way, especially on ravel roads :D the only problem i had/have is an engine. buy i thin vw diesel swao thill save the day :)

The performance for acceleration is it's a little slow, needs to be revved up to 3000 to get somewhat normal acceleration due to a 3 speed auto the major limiting factor of the 80 hp engine, braking is decent other than the fade after driving for a few hours but its part GM what can you expect, but the handling is a different story, it takes quite a bit of concentration to keep it on the road even more so when it's windy cause of the height vs wheelbase length, the steering is decent kinda truck like tho. The build quality is decent the frame has squeaks and rattles and rust. The appearance is pretty plain it doesn't have much in terms of options, no cruise or ac, no p/w, p/l. The cost of ownership is decent just like any vehicle change the oi when needed and do preventative maintenance and its all good. The gas mileage for the 3 spd auto in the winter is about 18 city, in the summer it's around 25 city, fairly decent considering it's revving 3650 rpm @ 100 km/h. Fun factor it's definitely a fun vehicle to drive feels like a quad because it has big windows and is fairly light at 2500 lbs curb weight.
