About 1991 Mercedes-Benz 300-Class
For 1991, the Mercedes-Benz 300-Class models bore a lot of resemblance to those of the previous year. The majority of the models came with a 3.0-liter, 6-cylinder, single-cam engine that generated 177 hp, while the 300CE coupe came with a 3.0-liter, 217-hp engine. The 300SL convertible stepped it up just a bit with a 3.0-liter, 6-cylinder, 228-hp engine. A 4-speed automatic transmission was standard across all models, with the exception of the SL, which came with a 5-speed automatic overdrive. A sunroof was also standard equipment on all models (again with the exception of the SL). Other standard equipment included antilock brakes, power windows, power door locks, air conditioning, and airbags for the driver and passenger. Leather seats were standard on the 300E, SE, SEL, and E 4MATIC sedans, on the SL convertible, and on the CE Coupe. They were available as an option on the other models.
