Overview

For 1990, Mazda's MX-6 sport coupe was available in four versions. The entry-level DX and mid-level LX trim packages came with a 2.2-liter inline four-cylinder engine that produced 110 horsepower. A GT trim package dropped a 145-horsepower, turbocharged version of the 2.2-liter four-cyclinder engine under the hood. In addition, a four-wheel steering version of the GT, called the Turbo 4WS, also was available. Standard features included power brakes, power steering, a tilt steering wheel, a rear window defroster, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo system. The LX added power windows, power door locks, cruise control, and power exterior mirrors, while the GT added fog lights, alloy wheels, and a premium audio system, and the Turbo 4WS added a sunroof. Options included air conditioning and anti-lock brakes (not available on the DX). Drivers liked the MX-6 for its durability, handling, reliability, and build quality. In fact, according to some drivers, the car was nearly indestructible. Of course, it wasn't that perfect, but it did seem to take a licking and keep in ticking.

I love this thing! Owned since new (graduation gift in 1990 w/ 7 miles on it) now with 263,785 original engine & turbo! It just won't die. Drive this more then my 2005 Superchared V-8 Jaguar, definitely more fun! I've owned over sixty cars and this is the only one I've held onto over the years. 20 years of drving her and she still makes me smile. Find one and drive it, you'll understand what I'm talking about as soon as you release the clutch.

I all-around love this car. The turbo makes it snappy and gives you the power when it's needed, but if driven conservatively with give you great gas mileage. As long as the oil is changed regularly and all the belts, fluids, and hoses are kept good and up to date it has ran like a top with no major mechanical problems. Other than the lack of cup holders and leg room for people over 6 foot + the interior is great and very functional.

Best car i ever had. The way it handled was so good. So much grip. The speed was there when i wanted it and the responce was out of this world. She was slim line, tinted windows, great vision all round. Didnt look like a beast at the lights but she held her own! Hot! Loved driving her!
