Overview

The 1990 Audi Coupe was a 2-door hatchback with seating for four, based on the Audi 80/90 platforms. It came equipped with Audi's innovative quattro all-wheel drive.
Powered by a 2.3-liter, 164-hp I5, with four valves per cylinder, and a 5-speed manual transmission, the 1990 Coupe had the potential to be a speedy sporty ride. That potential was literally overweighed by the heaviness of the car, attributable to its long list of standard features. Unsure whether it wanted to be sporty or luxurious, in typical Audi fashion the Coupe boasted such standard offerings as leather seats, intermittent wipers, cruise control, power mirrors, a trip computer, power sunroof, remote trunk release, and automatic climate control. Headlight cleaners, fog lamps, a rear spoiler, and a security system rounded off the list. Heated seats and memory settings could be purchased as options. Though the back seat was hurting for legroom, the seats folded 60/40 to expand the hatchback's trunk space.
Because of its solid engineering, the 1990 Coupe handled expertly and confidently on the road, with good traction, and high safety ratings due to standard ABS brakes and driver's front airbags. Owners can't say enough about the quattro technology, an unsurpassed all-wheel drive system that leads the pack in snow driving. Other compliments refer to the Coupe's safety, comfortable seats and cabin layout. Owners love its uniqueness, since it had such a short lifespan. This factor also makes aftermarket parts hard to find, however, if you want to trick the Coupe out for better racing performance. Complaints focus on the inadequate engine power for the car's weight, and the pricey maintenance.

This car was my love on the first sight.I just loved his exterior and also black leather interior. It has 2.0 engine with aftermarket LPG and 113 hp. This is a nice car to drive with solid performance, but it was enough to me for my first car. It's 18 years old and still looking better than much younger cars.I had two accidents with it and decided to sell it but only because I've found something better.

I had this 1990 'Coupe' until it was stolen in 2005-Registration number G405 BGS. Before this happened, I really did enjoy it. The 2.3 5 cylinder engine provided ample power and the handling was very sure footed. Being based on the 80 model meant that interior space was very generous, with enough room for four adults plus luggage.

I've have my Ur quattro 20v for more than 20 years and it has never let me down. I love its exclusive and sporty look and it still turns heads. Seats are firm and comfortable. Very high engineering and build quality, feels very safe. Remember is the last of the original body quattro cars. They produce about 1,900 vehicles with upgraded interior and the 20v engine.

The acceleration is soft in north american models without the turbo, so if your looking for a stoplight dragster plan on a engine swap or keep looking. However after the swap numbers like 600bhp daily driver are sudenly attainable. Handling is the best you've ever seen, wet or dry. It's very rare, and modern style keeps people thinking it's a new model "what is this?" Blast to drive in any conditions, especially in slippery weather.
