Amazingly, this was a better car than I expected. My wife bought it without my advice, but she got the best possible version. She picked a base model, with the bulletproof 2.2 engine, paired with the more reliable manual transmission. The car didn't weigh much so it had decent power, and the was reasonably fun to drive. Handling was good, and the small size was easy to park, but roomy inside. The hatchback design made the car very versatile. We got our money's worth out of this car.

It was basic transportation. Better acceleration and room than my chevette but not as fun due to FWD vs RWD and manual vs auto tranny. Oh to have owned an Omni GLHS - That would have been a different experience all together. Then I could have had more fun all together.

The car is a 1986 Dodge Omni GLH Turbo with intercooler Shelby computer and Garrett Turbos(2). It will do 105 in the 1/4 mile in 13.6 seconds. It is a real kick to drive and I wish that I had not traded it in for a 1987 Shelby CSX.
