My mom bought it new at a dealer in California for a mere five grand. Amazing how cheap cars were back then. It was just a basic car, with no A/C, no power options, standard transmission. A nice reliable car that got the job done.

Performance: Only a 1.6 so is not fast, even though this XR3i is supposed to be a sporty model. But it was built in 1985! Brakes are Ok. Handled Ok. A bit understeery. Build Quality: Good, Nothing to go wrong on this car! Appearence: Lovely. Had £7,000 worth or restoration work not long ago so was lovely. Cost of Ownership: Heavy on fuel for a 1.6, but again this is a 1985 car. Classic car insurence though, so very cheap. Fun Factor: Great fun. Everyone loves a Fast Ford

Just bought it with 100€ and it was worth of every penny and lasted until all the electric wires suddenly burned. I had a Brazilian version with a 1.6 german engine -not a rocket, but reliable. The real bargain would be the RS Turbo -model.
