For reliable, daily transportation, you can't really beat an E21 chassis. The M10 engine is nearly bulletproof, and everything on the car is so simple to repair. I removed the engine and gearbox in about 2.5 hours by myself. It gets better than 25 MPG, an oil change is hardly more than 20 dollars, and the best tires in the world in the stock size are about 55 dollars each. Stock, the car isn't that much of a performer at all, but it's still fun to drive. Uprating the brakes and suspension, fitting a better exhaust and intake would really transform the car. Lowered with some oversized wheels, the E21 can look truly mean. Or, 13 inch steel wheels and an abundance of chrome make a classic statement. Watch out for rust, though.

it is a pure unadulterated beast, roast the tires at the blip of the trottle, lord please protect my sweet ride as i start to slip and slid that i find the straightness in this ride, hang on here we go aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, lol it is really a hand full of slip and slid tire smoking in your face ,line it up i an,t scared its time to have fun , enjoy

loq mas me gusta de mi carro es q aun siendo modelo 79 sigue siendo BMW el color es llamativo ya que es celeste pero un celeste con clase tiene un motor 2.0 con carburador de doble boca solex lo unico q no me gusta es q tien un leve choque en la lodera derecha pero tiene solucion lo q pasa es q no se la e querido dar jajaja el interior esta nitido y lo mas virgo es q el tablero y los botones tiene nombres en aleman tiene un promedio de 25 a 30 km x galon y es tan lindo tan relaxante anejarlo q x el momento seria dificil q lo cambiara

Yes, it's nearly 30 years old. Not fast. But pretty damn quick for being a 2.0l 4 banger.
