This is my first car and still excites me everytime I drive it. I have spent the last 6 years getting into tip top shape. It is quick enough to make it very fun, and sometimes a little dangerous. It can cruise at 100 mph all day long. After my interior retrofit is done it will be as comfortable as a new car too!

This is the best car I've ever owned. Most all of the parts are still available new from BMW. Numerous owner clubs and parts sites as well.Lots of used parts available too, with a little internet searching. It is one of the most economical-to-drive and own as any car I have had. With a good shop manual, anyone with even just mild mechanical ability can maintain and repair it. Braking is excellent because of nice sized discs up front. Factory performance is good even by today's standards. Handling is better than most new sport sedans; it feels like a go kart. Very forgiving and predictable when being driven at the limit because of its neutral handling. Want tail-happy? Just mash the go pedal in a hard, fast turn. The car has a power to weight ratio on par with most current high-performance sedans. Weight is just over 2000 pounds and with about $500 in mods it will produce 140-150 hp. The car was designed to be a competitive racing machine and during its heyday it dominated the sports sedan classes. I've modded mine to about 140 hp and it still gets about 25 mpg. Easy to work on and the build quality is excellent, and after 35 years it is as solid and squeak-free as when it left the factory. Its styling gets you noticed and gets compliments everywhere you go. A driver's car in its purest form, I challenge you to find another car that is as much fun to drive. It begs to, and is built for, being driven hard. If you want an old car that has a high, high coolness factor, this is it. I will never sell mine!

Formerly a 100 BHP 2002 carb, upgraded to mechanical fuel injection, pushing out 130 BHP. It was destined to be a classic from the first day of production. Next upgrade would be to dump in a 5 speed gearbox. It's a BMW 2002tii. a Cult Classic. Need i say more?
