About 1965 Chevrolet Corvette
Overview

1965 told the tale of two Corvettes. The 1965 Chevrolet Corvette was the last to be a "Fuelie;" fuel injection would make its final appearance in the '65 Sting Ray.
In April of 1965, Chevrolet released its first big-block V8, a 396-ci monster rated at 425 horsepower. Luckily for drivers, 1965 also brought the addition of standard four-wheel disc brakes so that the 'vette could stop after gaining so much power from this engine.
The big-block engines were identifiable by the "power bulge" they created in the hood. (Yeah, go ahead and giggle. That's what it was called.)

Nassau blue with a blue leather interior and a white rag top. 350HP numbers matching 327 small block with a Muncie 4 speed. Mild fender flares added to the car in 1966 to accommodate wider wheels and tires. Polished American Racing Torque Thrust rims (15x8 in front, 15x10 out back). Fun to drive or just polish in the driveway.

Good looking car in the natural color trend of the late 70's. At 195 horsepower, it was fast for the time but a dog of a car. The air conditioner compressor sounded like a bucket of bolts at idle or on deceleration. The heat of the transmission made it intolerable to remove the roof panels in nice weather. I sold this car when gas went to $1.25 and it was getting 16 mpg at best.

It was a great sports car in its time, has great body line, performance for the 327 was fair, poor braking system, Handling was fair nothing to write home about. Everyone wanted a ride in it. I purchased the Vette in 1970 with 59k miles on it paid $1200.00 for it. Did a lot of work Mechanical, body was in excellent condition. Sorry to this day for selling it
