Overview

In 1964, the Super Sport went from being an option package to becoming a series. Choices within the line were limited in terms of trim, but not engine-wise. The offered trims were limited to the sports coupe and convertible, but the engines once again ranged from a 283-ci V8 rated at 170 horsepower all the way to the storied 409 dual four-barrel carburetor rated at 425 horsepower with 425 torque.
1964 saw a drop in 409 sales numbers, with only 8,684 of the engines installed. This makes the '64 409 engine perhaps more of a treasure today than it was when it was taking cars off the line back in the 60s.You Can Put Hydrolics on it witch would make it an A+ car witch would make it a cool looking one

I owned a 1964 Chevrolet Impala 2-door hardtop, midnight blue, from 1964 (new) to about 1975. Automatic, v8, 327(?). The most beautiful car in the world still.

This was my very first car.... I loved it minus the x style frame that was rusted away when I bought it. Now I have the welding skills, too bad I don't have the car anymore. Ah, the sweet memories.
