From start to finish my experience with City Volkswagen Of Evanston was Top Notch, I had the pleasure of working the Sales Associate Gilbert he was extremely thorough and welcoming with everything I was in need of to have me drive off the lot in my new Cross Sport, from the Porter to the Finance Manager the entire team’s Customer Service was excellent.

VW was offering a very attractive lease terms and the dealership had one of the qualifying cars in stock. I explained what I was looking for and the dealership honored the lease deal as advertised. I know that shouldn't be shocking, but it was extremely refreshing to not be pressed for every penny they could get out of me. This is the 5th VW I have owned and this was by far the smoothest dealer experience.

Didn’t even want to give us an out the door price… said we were too far apart. It was rude tbh. So we went to a dealer 10 min down the road and bought a nicer car from them!

Were nice at first, but quickly became adversarial and were very inflexible. They had a very condescending tone and I walked out the moment they said "we are doing you a favor." When they brought me a deal that was terrible. I ended uo buying another vehicle from a different dealer. Would avoid this dealer.

I'll preface this by saying I've submitted a complaint to BBB and it has been accepted - awaiting a response from the dealership. I had been in contact with this dealership for a few days, we agreed on a price and set an appointment to come purchase the vehicle. After they instructed me to get a certified check from my bank, I get back from getting it for the amount agreed upon and I get a call saying that they had sold the car out from under me. They claimed that it's "first come first served." This was NEVER communicated to me. Had I known that, I might have made other arrangements to drive the three hours sooner for this vehicle. I would assume when you agree to a price and set a specification appointment and am told "We will be eagerly awaiting your arrival Saturday at 9am!" then there is at least an agreement to hold, especially since the appointment was for tomorrow morning, right when they open. Very poor way to treat people, let alone customers.

I saw from a website this vehicle was available. I was highly interested in the vehicle so I went ahead and made a progressive step by submitting an application. I called them a day before I showed up in person. I was told by a finance person that I had gotten an approval. I mentioned that vehicle and they told me I would be able to put zero down explaining my entire situation upon arriving to the dealership, the vehicle was there as the man stated the day before. I test drove the car and I loved the car and was very interested. I said at the sales person’s desk and waited, feeling excited about actually finding something I liked that was newer with a cheaper price and low miles just to be swindled into another deal with an older car more miles and more expensive I was told there was a woman driving from six hours away, who already finalized on the car which wasn’t fair because I was told the vehicle was available and they even allowed me to drive it around.
