2014 Buick regal cuts off while I'm driving or
at stop light check engine light on. What
could it be?

The check engine light means that the engine's computer (PCM) has stored a fault codes. Have that code scanned for free at an auto parts store and fix accordingly. Write the codes down for your mechanic, and Google them for more information. Don't wait.
