Question type: Maintenance & Repair

IS THE HOUR MEETER JUST FOR THE MOTOR OR MOTOR AND TRANY

It comes on whenever the ignition is on? That would make sense...you can look where the "on" function originates...if it's just on the igntion...there's you answer...if it's somehow connected to the transmission...that'd be it then...look to where the leads originate to figure it out~ pretty sure it's just live ignition hours~

The idle hour meter is just for when your car is not moving - engine running. to help with the maintenance schedule since PI cars are assumed to do a lot of idling -

Yup - it's an engine idle hour meter. Just for the heck of it, I went on a ride-a-long with a Deputy. (Scared the crap out of me!) These cars either idle or run WFO with very little normal (sane) driving. I would venture to say that they idle with the AC and all accessories running about 80% of the time.
