How do I request a partial refund from Subaru for an expensive and early transmission overhaul?

Asked by Todd Mar 09, 2016 at 05:51 PM about the 2012 Subaru Impreza 2.0i Premium Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

At just under 102,000 miles, I received a number of warning lights that
forced me into a Subaru dealer the next day. Four days later, and after a
visit from their regional tech rep, they were able to diagnose the problem:
defective lockout solenoid in the CVT, requiring a new valve body and CVT
overhaul. 13 days after dropping it off the repairs were complete (parts
were delayed). Total cost: $1144. This seems like a major repair that came
way too early for a Subaru. Not what I expected.

My Toyota had 300K miles on it and never had problems with the trans, I think 100K is to early for a transmission failure! shame on Subaru!
