2011 jeep

Asked by Guru95XK Mar 19, 2017 at 11:15 AM about the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4WD

Question type: General

I was leaving a stop light and when I put my foot
on the gas the truck popped like a jerk motion and
when I tried to drive the RPMs jumped high and
was hearing like a free spin Chime under the truck  
I can put it in park and nutral and it will stop the
noice but when I put it in reverse an drive I get the
chime spinning sound truck will not move forward
or backward I'm thinking it's the fly wheel but I'm
not sure

Sounds to me like a transfer case issue. But, it could be a lot of things. I would have to see it to know more about the problem. I'm assuming you probably already have had it fixed by now. Sorry just now saw the inquiry or I would have answered earlier.

I appreciate your time and help yes I got the issue fixed it was actually the front drive shaft with the quadra Trac I all the power goes through the front drive shaft if it goes all power goes with it so it won't drive at all without the front drive shaft
