2010 malibu blower quit working

I was trying to switch my defroster to the vents for the a/c and it would not
come off of defrost  My unit is automatic and the fan was set close to highest
setting   I switched back and forth a half a dozen times with no results of it
switching to the vents   After failing to switch to vents my blower quit and has
not come back on   Without taking to the dealer it is an expensive trial and error
with a no return policy on electronics   Has anyone come across this before and
if so what can I do ?

first chec the fuse for the blower than check for a vacuum leak.then a dirty door...

Thank you for your help I was really unsure where to start with seeing where someone had taken to the dealer and wanted $700.00 to fix I was able to try a new resistor from OReillys to see if that was my blower problem And after checking that was my blower problem Blower is working but still wont come off defrost I unhooked my battery so it would reboot Hooked it back up went in turned to the vent setting for the air and victory was working again So no $700.00 bill from GM hope this is help to others Thank You again for your help
