What does P0016 code mean on an engine on a 2010 Ford Edge. Recently replaced cam position sensor and timing chain?

Have you tested the camshaft phaser? These are issues with these ford engines

I have already replaced the Cam position sensor and the code had been cleared. When the code came back on shortly after I was told it probably needs camshaft phasers. Another technician told me it was the timing chain and water pump. Apparently phasers are only a problem on the f-150's.

If the cam chain is really stretchered out I suppose the cam could be out of time. Does the cam chain rattle?

I have replaced phasers on many Ford models not just the F150. In fact the flex and escape i have done the most phasers.

Have a 2009 Ford Edge sport with error codes P0012 and P0016. Do I need new camshaft phasers?
