08 Cobalt undercarriage damage, unsure of part

Asked by Trinaty Feb 07, 2019 at 10:04 PM about the 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt LT Coupe FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I hit a cement wall due to losing grip on black ice. I know that my radiator is
damaged and so is the frame, however I had this spring? type thing with a
plastic type motor that moves when turned, break off and I have no idea what it
is. Any suggestions??

Looks like a part that broke off of a larger assembly you will be replacing anyway, like the radiator. Sometimes the lower radiator hoses have a spring inside to keep them from collapsing when the water pump/engine is revving high.
