i have a 1999 ford f-350 super duty crew cab 4x4 with auto trans unit does into reverse and backs up but will not go int drive or move forward

I'm assuming it a automatic transmission. Check the transmission fluid level. Does the gear selector move and the truck just doesn't go into gear? Or the gear selector on the steering column won't go into drive?

yes it is an automatic transmission, fluid is full, and the gear selector does move on the steering column. and is moving leaver on the side of the transmission.
