My 2000 subaru outback w/ 146,000 miles sounds like a train when I step on the gas .Is this a low cost repair or is it wort fixing?

I would recommend bringing the vehicle to a shop to have them diagnose the problem. Cost could vary dramatically as the issue could range anywhere from a worn out serpentine belt to a transmission rebuild..
