I have 2002 Chevy sliverado with the amazing 5.3 vortec in it and its in limp mode/ fail mode, how do i fix it.

I changed the fuel filter and it didn't do anything also when i start it it has a rough low idle
and within 2 to 5 seconds of not tapping the gas it just dies please contact me with any
