My check engine light,traction control and cruise light came on at the same time

You probably have multiple problems. First get the OBD2 engine codes read and also have the ABS codes read. I suspect that you may have a bad wheel speed sensor that would explain the traction light and maybe the cruise control light and possibly the CEL as well.

Is the battery ok? They tend to do like this when battery goes bad.

C'mon, guys...you're both leading astray here. Subie simply links the traction and cc lights to the CEL as additional visual indicators whenever the CEL is triggered. Action is to simply read and erase the CEL and proceed as indicated by its code. It's VERY unlikely that there's an ABS nor battery problem, as each has its own separate indicators.
