this occurred to me twice since I leased the 2017 on 2-5-2018. The first time was in front of the Condo I was staying at in St. Petersburg FL, around the end of February and the second time it occurred at a motel I was staying at off 95 in Virginia. In both cases the car was locked up with the windows up the night before?

Looks like a chronic problem, but it can be fixed. On my 2019 Lincoln MKC I disabled the "global open" feature, but finding the solution was not easy. The windows open if you hold down the Unlock button on the key fob for 8 seconds or more - on purpose or not. Here's how to disable that feature: 1. On the left side of the steering wheel press the left arrow. 2. Scroll down to Settings and press OK. 3. Scroll down to Vehicle and press OK. 4. Scroll down to Windows and press OK. 5. Uncheck Remote. Now you will not be able to open your windows with the key fob, but more importantly you will not run the risk of your windows going down in a thunderstorm or other bad things happening.

GuruV2LJL, thanks. Guest comes in house, says is tgat your Lincoln? Nice. You'd better roll up your windows. I go out and it's raining, of course, and the windows are down with tge sunroof tilted open. Followed you instructions so it won't happen again. I think tge manual called it "venting."

I don't even need to give a quick pus on my remote and all my windows come down on my vw golf and it is an after market remote so my car doesn't have a global open feature I don't know where to look it's been ok so far cause it's been nice weather here but its getting wetter here now and having to lock with key but by doing that my car is not alarmed and then not covered by insurance

Tonight we had a horrific thunderstorm/tornado. 3 or more inches of rain. I went out to see the damage and found my 2018 MKC windows all open. I tested my fob to see if holding it down caused them to open. They did not open using the fob. Could it be the lightning?
