BMW Z4 - No dipstick?
7 Answers
My dad has an X3 with the same 3.0 liter engine as is available in the Z4 and it does not have a dipstick. If you have the navigation package there is a way to check through the computer (my dad doesn't have it). The only way to check on his is by draining or taking it in. The latter being the better option.
BMW doesn't want anybody but a certified BMW shop to do work on their cars so they probably just dont have one on that vehicle
You can obtain the oil level via the instrument cluster, if you need help in finding which buttons to press to obtain the oil level let me know. Oil quantity should be around 7 liters

There are 2 buttons under the speedometer. Press the right-hand one (preferably after the engine has been running for a while.) It will show a scrolling bar while it checks the oil level. When it is done it will show the results and an "OK" if it is at an acceptable level.
Has a BMW 320I M SPORT HIGHLINE 2009 got a Dipstick? What about a BMW 2017 4 Series 420d Grand Coupe please? I know both have onboard computer so we can check but I like to physically check via the dipstick but on both our vehicles I can’t locate the dipstick and one know if they do please? Many thanks Kaz
