How do I find out if I have an interferense motor? Does this mean if belt brakes
it doesn't trash valves etc....

Interference engine means if the timing belt slips or breaks valves will hit pistons causing damage that may require cylinder head replacement and more. Timing belts must be replaced at the recommended intervals.
