Pontiac's mid-size sports sedan got a few new features this year, even in the base model. The 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix Base doesn't do too bad with a 200-hp, 3.8-liter V6 engine and 4-speed automatic. Though not as well equipped or geared towards performance as the other two trims, the 2007 Grand Prix Base offers a full set of power features, including a 6-way power driver's seat -- newly standard this year. Cruise control, keyless entry, a security system, OnStar, air conditioning, and a CD player are also included.
In terms of safety, a tire pressure monitor is new this year. The 2007 Grand Prix Base also comes with dual front airbags, daytime running lights, and twilight-sensing headlamps. ABS brakes and traction control are options only. A rear spoiler hints at its performance branding. What doesn't come standard can be had with option packages. A Sport Package adds 17-inch alloy tires, ground effects, and stainless steel exhaust tips. A navigation system, 6-CD changer, satellite radio, heated leather seats, remote start, folding front passenger seat, and side curtain airbags are other options.

A supercharged version of the 3.8-liter V6 engine means the 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix GT hits 260-hp, a 60-hp boost from the base version. The GT comes only with a 4-speed automatic, but does feature 4-wheel ABS and traction control standard. Stability control not available. The 2007 Grand Prix GT has bigger 17-inch alloy wheels and foglights, which you won't find on the base. Dual front-side airbags are standard as is a new tire pressure monitor.
Adding onto the power features, keyless entry, OnStar, and 6-way power driver's seat on the base model, the 2007 Grand Prix GT offers remote start, a trip computer, cruise control, and steering-wheel mounted audio controls. A CD player is standard. The GT also adds on leather trim for the center console, shifter, and steering wheel. The Sport Package is an option if you want performance tires, ground effects, and bright exhaust tips. Heated leather seats, upgraded audio system, navigation system, a sunroof, flat-fold front passenger seat, and dual-zone climate control are other add-ons. Owners praise the smooth ride, great power, and luxurious interior. More headroom and better gas mileage top the wish list.

The 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP is by far the premier version of this mid-size sedan, both in terms of performance and luxury. The GXP gets a 5.3-liter, 303-hp V8 engine with a sports-tuned suspension, stronger shocks, 18-inch performance tires, and displacement on-demand, which shuts down four of its eight cylinders when not in use in order to increase fuel economy. A 4-speed auto tran is all that's available, but controls are located on the steering wheel in the GXP. The GXP also comes with ABS brakes, traction, control, and stability control. New this year is a tire pressure monitor. Dual front-side airbags, foglights, and daytime running lights are also standard.
A unique heads-up display is standard only in the 2007 Grand Prix GXP. This projects information onto the windshield so you don't have to take your eyes off the road. It is in addition to the trip computer. The GXP also adds a temperature display, heated leather seats, and a flat-fold front passenger seat to accommodate long objects. Dual-zone climate control, OnStar, leather trim, and an 8-speaker CD system are also standard. A rear spoiler adorns the exterior. Options offer a sunroof, navigation system, MP3 player, satellite radio, and side curtain airbags. Drivers agree that power and acceleration are first-rate, and they love the heads-up display feature.
