2007 marked the first significant makeover for BMW's smallest SUV, the X3. Launched in 2004, the X3 had had only minor cosmetic upgrades prior to the 2007 model year, which includes some more changes to its exterior and, most notably, more muscle under the hood.

The 2007 X3 gets an updated 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine and uses the latest variable valve timing technology. That results in 260 horsepower, a 35 point increase from the 2006 X3.

I have owned four BMW’s in the past fifteen years. The newer generations are more Lux-O-Boxes then Driving Machine.s My last BMW I got in late 2019. It is a beautiful piece of machinery. That being the most recent generation. But, doesn’t have heart of 2007 X3, I missed that car and my 2008 M-5 the day I sold them. I am looking for the fun, feel and ability to tweak the 3.0 engine to increase power. I can make it my own. I want add that generation X3 SAV to complete my BMW collection. Iwill continue to purchase the new generations of BMW’s as my daily drivers. As well as find unique BMW’s to add to my collection.Mar 24, 2022
