CarGurus Introduces "Great Deal" Badges Program for Dealerships

Free, Opt-in Program Integrates CarGurus' Price Endorsement On Dealer Websites

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., May 19, 2016 – CarGurus (https://www.cargurus.com), a leading third-party car shopping website, today announced the launch of CarGurus' Deal Rating Badges, a program which enables car dealers in the U.S. and Canada to automatically display CarGurus' "Good Deal" and "Great Deal" ratings on qualifying inventory on their stores' desktop and mobile websites. The free program helps dealers leverage CarGurus' trusted market price analysis and provide their customers with independent validation that they are getting a good deal.

Third-party market-value validation is a critical factor in most digital car shoppers' car buying decisions. According to a recent CarGurus survey of 2,000 in-market car shoppers, 78% said they will not buy a used car without first checking independent, third-party data on the car's price.

"Millions of shoppers look to CarGurus' deal ratings to inform their shopping decisions, and with Deal Rating Badges, dealers can now leverage these ratings on their own websites – at no cost," said Martha Blue, Senior Vice President of Business Development and Dealer Marketing. "We are always working to develop innovative ways to help dealers reach more customers and sell more cars. The Badges program is extremely easy for dealers to implement, and we are confident it will help them drive improved website engagement and conversions."

The Deal Rating Badges program is automated through a simple software integration implemented via the dealership's website host provider, and badges can be configured to fit the look and feel of the dealer website's search results (SRPs) and vehicle detail pages (VDPs). Deal Rating Badges will then automatically appear on the dealership's desktop and mobile sites for their "Good" and "Great" deals, as determined by CarGurus' daily price analysis.

CarGurus' deal ratings are a prominent feature of the shopping experience at CarGurus.com, which attracts more than 20 million unique users a month. Ratings are informed by the company's daily Instant Market Value (IMV) algorithm that considers detailed vehicle specs, region and accident history of millions of used car listings.

Dealers interested in the Deal Rating Badges program should visit http://dealers.cargurus.com/dealratingbadges or contact (888) 440-6679. The program is free and available to all dealerships in the U.S. and Canada, whether or not they currently work with CarGurus. For dealers that do not currently provide inventory to CarGurus, which is a requirement for this program, the company can help advise on inventory syndication. Posting basic listings on CarGurus is available to dealers at no charge.
