Write a reviewNot too much changed for Cadillac's extra-strength luxury sedan in 2005. The CTS-V has a 5.7 L, 400 hp V8 engine with 6 speed manual transmission. In addition, this vehicle has 4 doors, seats 5, and uses rear wheel drive.
Gas mileage comes out to 16 mpg in the city and 25 on the highway. Standard features include air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, power/leather seats, cd player, navigation system, traction control, and stability control. Sunroof comes as an option. Finally, the CTS-V gives you 111.3 cubic feet of passenger space, over 13 cubic feet more than the regular CTS.
Overall, the CTS-V gets props for its power passenger space. However, drivers consistently criticize the feature that lets you skip from first to fourth gear in order to save gas. In addition, interior materials could use some improvement and you won't get ABS brakes until the 2006 model year. Otherwise, industry observers believe the CTS-V can eventually compete with just about anyone in the competitive luxury sedan market.

I love this car. It is very very fast and more response even to the the cts-v 2009-2015 automatic cars. The interior is in very good shape. I have installed an all aluminum performance radiator. This is a wonderful car. Dec 15, 2014

This 2005 CTS-V is nothing more than a 4 door Corvette. Straight-line acceleration is a real thrill and seat crusher and handling is remarkably good for a vehicle of this weight. I am selling to get a newer model (2009-2012) that has even more power. Aug 07, 2012

well after owning a couple other fast cars this one is by far my favorite very fast, acceleration and top end but what do you expect with 405hp stk. the color isnt my favorite for this car but i got a good deal on it so i went for it and now i have no regrets Jun 03, 2010

this car is cool because it is such a sleeper. most people dont know what the cts-v is. most dont expect a Z06 engine in a cadillac. when i first brought it to work (a gm dealer mind you) the old timers were all blown away that the car was a 6 speed. then they found out how fast it was and all tried to buy it from me.Dec 08, 2009

It's very fast, holds 5 people and gets acceptable mileage if I can keep my foot out of it. It has been totally reliable. The best thing is that it's stealthy. Few people know what it is. Most people think it a regular CTS...but it aint! Jun 29, 2009

It's faster than yours! Aggresive acceleration, fade free braking, sticks like flypaper. Room for 5 big trunk and can beat all but the most expensive supercars on the street. Takes premium fuel but it's so much fun I just don't care!Feb 21, 2009

acceleration is great. no internal repairs. sleek, black, beautiful. funnest car i've been in. I would totaly recommend this great car to either my friends or anyone else who would have an interest in this fantastic machine.

I love my car! It is the first car I have ever owned that didn't involve some kind of compromise. To the untrained eye it may look like a normal CTS, but it has the same powertrain as a Corvette. That means it has a 6.0 L LS 2 V8 that produces 400 BHP with a 6 speed manual transmission. If Thurston Howell III and Mad Max built a car, this would be it!

The Interior finish is short-sighted, with the black finish flaking off of the radio controls. GM added a computer chip to the transmission that forces you to shift from 1st to 4th under "normal" acceleration, in order to be compliant with Federal MPG mandate. It does not engage if you are accelerating hard of short shifting. You can replace the chip for about $20.00, but if you get caught you will likely forfeit any warranty protection. Aug 13, 2008

This is by far the most fun car i've ever owned. It has the performance of a sports car with the luxory of a sedan. This car has a little over 400 horses and will do 0 to 60 in 4.1 seconds. This is a very fun car to drive and will give me the gas mileage i need. I love this carJul 14, 2008

Finally America has made a good all around car. Its fast, reliable, HANDLES WELL( FINALLY), practicale and fairly priced. I only drove it for about 10 min but I was very impressed.
