(The salesman told me they don’t tell him that, they just give him numbers.) I thanked him for his time and stood to leave and he asked me to wait, and informed me he could get the numbers down. I asked why we wouldn't do that to begin with then? He said it was ‘the game’ the financing department plays. Overall, it was a crushing waste of time, but the salesman made an effort to have a decent demeanor. I ended up purchasing a car elsewhere that was 6k more than the used one they quoted me numbers for, at about half the monthly payment price, for the same length lease term. (Yikes) So i guess the takeaway is bring your own financing if you have your heart set on something here.
